Owning a PhD in GIS and Remote sensing, I am currently senior advisor earth observation data & applications at Netherlands Space Office (NSO) with a special focus on data science and Big Data infrastructures. Before I was senior researcher GEO-ICT at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI). I coordinated the implementation and use of GIS within KNMI and performed research on geospatial data infrastructures, and on spatialization of climatological and meteorological variables. In my free time I enjoy a.o. photography. A selection of my photographic results since 1997 is presented on this website. Due to some “work deformation” I also became a weather enthusiast with an Internet enabled weather station in my back garden…
